The Napali Coast’s 22 miles of shoreline with 3,000-foot cliffs qualifies as Hawaii’s most remote wilderness and is accessible only via air, sea or foot, the latter recommended only for experienced hikers. Other island landmarks include Waimea Canyon, Kilauea Lighthouse, Fern Grotto, Menehune Fishpond and Poipu Beach Park. Fun on Kauai includes whale-watching cruises and helicopter tours, and cultural appeal can be found at the Children’s Discovery Museum, Kauai Historical Society, Kauai Museum or the Waioli Mission House. Kauai accommodations range from intimate hideaways and rental condominiums to resort hotels.
